Training & Development

We strive to provide all employees with career and personal development opportunities through training and development.

Management Trainees 
We continuously recruit fresh graduates from reputable universities worldwide to participate in our Trainee Programme. Upon joining Wilmar, the trainees will undergo a comprehensive in-house training programme which helps them understand the various businesses. At the same time, trainees will gain hands-on experience as well as get accustomed to the company’s culture through working in various departments or on specific projects locally or overseas. Department heads, who are also the mentors, will continuously assess and evaluate the trainees to ensure that there is a structured career development for the trainees, much like all other staff within the Group, in accordance to their potential, talent and leadership traits.

Experienced Professionals 
Continuous training is provided to all levels of employees to enable them to perform their jobs effectively and progress in their careers. We ensure that staff are developed to their fullest potential with the right level of authority, responsibility and skills set. Training, both on-the-job and formal learning, job rotations, overseas assignments and mentoring form the work-and-learn experience in Wilmar.

Succession Planning

To support the growth of our business, we constantly look out for strong performers to be groomed into future leaders of Wilmar. Potential leaders undergo a comprehensive Leadership Training Programme to prepare them to take on challenging roles within the Group. To ensure that there is a ready pool of talents in the pipeline to take on leadership positions, the Group continues to harvest talents through scholarships and executive programmes with universities both in Singapore and globally. At the same time, the Group participates innovatively in recruitment fairs such as conducting on-site tasting of soy milk and rice noodles to evoke interest in its products.
